Back to the Woodland Trail Page> | Any time you are walking through any woodlands area you should make yourself familiar with any plants that could be harmful. This one should be known to everyone…”Leaves of three, leave me be.” This is poison ivy and can cause a serious rash if it comes into contact with your skin. If you think you may have touched poison ivy or poison oak, wash the affected area with warm soap and water thoroughly as soon as possible to remove any of the plants oils that may have been left on your skin. If a rash breaks out, you can try one of several over the counter medicines for poison ivy rash. If the rash is not better in 24 hours, seek medical attention. We have tried to remove as much of this plant as possible in the trail path, however, this plant is alive and well in the woodland trail area and spreads fairly easily. So please be cautious and be aware of any plants you come in contact with. Back to the Site Plan |
