
TYLER, TX – The Smith County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service invite the public to a special installment of the “Nature in the Garden Series” on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The program will be held at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office located in the Cotton Belt Building at 1517 W. Front St., Suite 116, Tyler, Texas 75702.
Guest speaker Dawn Stover, founder and owner of The Nectar Connector, will present “Butterflies: Best Practices for Monarch Conservation and Butterfly Gardening in East Texas.” With decades of experience working in native plant conservation and pollinator support, Stover will share expert tips on how to create and maintain butterfly-friendly gardens that specifically support monarchs as well as other native species.
Attendees will learn about the importance of host and nectar plants, and other garden strategies that benefit butterflies throughout their life cycle. This session is ideal for gardeners of all experience levels who want to support pollinators and boost biodiversity in their landscapes.
