Friday, January 31 from 9 AM to noon at the home of Roger and Sue Farr (6073 FM 2348, Mount Pleasant; blue mailbox and blue front door). This workshop will focus on pruning fruit and nut trees, and if there is interest a few other woody perennials on the property. You will receive 3 CEUs (1 per hour that you stay) for your participation. You may have the possibility to take home volunteer fruit trees or dormant wood cuttings. Roger and Sue will supply the pots and soil for you to do this.
For the workshops, wear clothes that can get dirty and stained, and in layers appropriate for the outside weather.
Bring your hand pruners and loppers, if you have them. We’ll show you how to maintain them and will sharpen them if necessary. We’ll also have a few “loaner” tools for you to use.
Wear tight-fitting “mechanics” gloves ($4 at Harbor Freight, something more than jersey knit) for pruning, and bring gauntlet gloves for rose work, if you have them.
