Smith County Master Gardeners Host 2025 Home Garden Tour: “Shades of Monet”
TYLER, Texas – The Smith County Master Gardeners are excited to announce their annual Home Garden Tour, set for Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s theme, “Shades of Monet,” celebrates the artistry of the home garden, with five distinctive private landscapes on display across Smith County.
Each garden on the tour offers a unique blend of beauty, creativity, and ecological gardening principles. Visitors will experience vibrant native plantings, pollinator-friendly flowers, creative hardscaping, and inspiring design ideas suitable for East Texas yards of all sizes. Highlights include a storm-resilient garden reimagined with colorful perennials and a prairie-style landscape featuring grasses and golden blooms.
The tour promotes Earth-Kind® landscaping, a sustainable approach endorsed by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, emphasizing water conservation, low-maintenance plants, and environmental responsibility. Master Gardeners will be stationed at each home to offer guidance and answer questions.
Advance tickets are $15 and available online at txmg.org/smith/events, at the Smith County AgriLife Extension Office, or from any Master Gardener. Tickets will also be sold at the gardens the day of the tour for $20.
Proceeds support educational outreach, horticulture scholarships, and improvements to the Tyler Botanical Garden.
