Salvia, Marcus Salvia nemorosa Haeumanarc perennial average 4 and higher 12 inches 18 inches eveery 6-8 weeks deer |
Marcus Salvia (Salvia nemorosa ‘Haeumanarc’) is a new dwarf version of the exquisite May Night Salvia. It has compact, dense growth, it is easy to grow either in the ground, or in garden containers. TheĀ rich, bold hues of this salvia starts in June and keeps on coming through fall. Rich spikes of violet-blue flowers rise above mounds of airy, gray-green foliage. Marcus Salvia is a magnet for butterflies, honey bees, and hummingbirds. But deer tend to steer clear! This heat-loving Salvia performs beautifully with minimal care. Take time to trim nearly spent flowers regularly…and you’ll get an exciting vertical accent in cut flower arrangements. Doing this actually encourages additional flushes of flowers! This winter-hardy plant makes very elegant container gardens, especially when massed as a single species in over sized pots. Give Marcus Salvia full sun, where they’ll get at least six hours of sunlight. Ensure the soil drains quickly, especially during winter. |
