2024 Master Gardener Training Class Schedule (updated 240206)
Become a Texas Master Gardener
To become a certified Texas Master Gardener through the Cypress Basin Master Gardeners Association, you must complete 50 hours of classroom training. Classes generally begin in the first Tuesday after January 1 and end in early March. In addition to completing the classroom training, 50 hours of volunteer service must be completed within one year of completing your classroom training to achieve the Texas Master Gardener certification. To participate in an official CBMGA graduation the volunteer service must be completed on or before October 31 of your class training year.

The majority of volunteer service hours are generally achieved through maintaining the garden areas around the extension office and through working in some capacity on our annual plant sale. Achieving 50 hours of volunteer service hours is relatively easy if you attend our regularly scheduled work days (we have at least one a week, usually Wednesday)
If you are unable to attend a training session, you will need to make arrangements with the county agent for a make-up session.
Full payment must be made in advance to reserve your place in the Training Class. Most registrations will be taken in the three months preceding the January class start. Classes start in January.
The state Texas Master Gardeners organization has instituted a new registration process that includes the application to become a master gardeners, a volunteer course and a background check. The process starts by completing the Registration form linked below. One thing you must do to apply to become a Master Gardener with CBMGA (Cypress Basin Master Gardener Assoc.) is to enter “Titus” in the form for volunteer county.
