Dallas Blooms Field Trip – Dallas Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum is hosting their Dallas Blooms program which features 100 varieties of bulbs and 500,000 blooms. Contact Kay Miller if you wish to participate in the field trip. We will leave from the Extension office at 7:45 AM to arrive at the arboretum around 9:30 AM. Lunch is available at Restaurant DeGolyer on the grounds.

Parking is $15 per car, unless purchased online. If ordered online in advance, parking is $8 per car. I would suggest that we determine how many cars will be going, and let me purchase the parking tickets in advance.

Also on display will be The Great Contributors exhibit, part of Gary Lee Price’s renowned art collection. A fellow of the National Sculpture Society, Price has been recognized worldwide for his bold work lifting and celebrating the human spirit. The life-size bronze sculptures that will be placed throughout the spring garden include Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Claude Monet, Albert Einstein, William Shakespeare, Mark Twain and the Wright Brothers, many of which are on benches or in garden settings.

We will leave from the Extension office at 7:45 AM, for arrival around 9:30 am. We will have lunch at the Restaurant DeGolyer on the grounds. They have a sandwich menu, as well as hot entrees. Reservations can be made for 8 or more, with a 20% gratuity. They will not split the checks, so be prepared with cash. You can explore lunch options on your own if you do not want to eat at the DeGolyer House. There are several restaurants on the grounds.

There is a lot of walking on this excursion, so be sure to wear your comfortable shoes and sun screen.

Money for your tickets and parking pass (if you need one) must be turned in to Kay Miller no later than Thursday March 10th. Please bring your money to the monthly meeting. If you want to attend but cannot get your money to the office in time, you can pay at the gate, but will not qualify for the group discount. The only way to get the parking discount is for me to order it online in advance.
